What 15Five does

15Five is a performance management platform built for HR teams and people managers. It brings together performance reviews, employee engagement surveys, 1-on-1 tracking, OKR goal-setting, and compensation signals under one roof. The idea is that having all of this in one system makes it easier to spot patterns and act on them.

The platform includes a layer of AI called Spark AI, plus newer solutions like Kona (an AI assistant and coach for managers) and AI Agents that automate parts of the review and feedback workflow. These features are designed to reduce the manual effort of writing reviews and running check-ins, while surfacing engagement trends that might otherwise stay buried in survey data.

15Five is aimed at mid-market and enterprise organizations rather than very small teams. It connects with Jira and Salesforce, and is described as compatible with leading HRIS and SSO systems, so it is intended to sit alongside your existing HR infrastructure rather than replace it.

Key capabilities

AI-assisted performance reviews

The Perform module uses AI to help write and structure performance reviews, with the goal of making the process faster and reducing reviewer bias. It also supports 1-on-1s, check-ins, and career growth tracking.

Employee engagement surveys

The Engage module runs surveys across different stages of the employee experience and uses predictive analytics to surface the engagement drivers that matter most. Built-in action planning is included to help teams respond to findings.

Manager coaching and enablement

Kona is an AI assistant and coach aimed at helping managers lead more effectively. Add-ons include group and 1-on-1 coaching options and an on-demand content library for manager development.

Compensation and performance alignment

A separate Compensation module connects performance data to pay decisions, including pay range management and real-time benchmarking, so compensation choices are informed by the same data used in reviews.

Talent planning and visualisation

A newer Growth Studio module lets leaders map talent across a 9-box matrix and launch development plans, performance improvement plans, or succession planning directly from that view.

Outcomes dashboard and reporting

A centralised dashboard aggregates performance, retention, and engagement metrics with demographic filters and shareable executive views, intended to give HR a strategic reporting layer.

Best for

  • Mid-market or enterprise HR teams that want performance reviews, engagement surveys, and manager solutions in a single platform rather than separate point solutions
  • Organisations where manager effectiveness is a known gap and structured coaching or AI-guided prompts would add practical value
  • HR leaders who need to present engagement and retention data to senior stakeholders and want a built-in reporting layer to do it
  • Companies already using Jira or Salesforce who want their performance data connected to where work is tracked
  • People teams running regular review cycles and engagement surveys who want to reduce the manual effort of writing, distributing, and analysing them

Worth knowing

  • Pricing is per user per month billed annually, so costs scale directly with headcount. A 200-person company on the Total Platform tier would pay roughly $38,400 per year before any add-ons — worth modelling before committing.
  • Several of the most distinctive features — Kona AI coaching, manager content, and individual coaching credits — are add-ons priced separately on top of the base plans, which can increase the total cost meaningfully depending on how many managers you want to support.
  • Implementation is estimated at two to four weeks, which is relatively light, but you will still need someone internally to own the rollout, configure surveys, and connect your HRIS.
  • The platform is described as best suited to mid-market and enterprise organisations; very small teams or early-stage businesses with no existing HR infrastructure may find the feature set more than they need at this stage.
  • If you only need one piece — for example, just engagement surveys or just goal tracking — there are narrower, lower-cost solutions worth comparing before choosing a broader platform.
