What Numeric does
Numeric is a cloud-based platform built around the month-end close process. It connects to your general ledger and bank feeds, then organizes the close into a checklist, handles account reconciliations, and flags anomalies in transaction data before they become problems. The AI layer drafts flux (variance) explanations, matches cash transactions, and can answer technical accounting questions through a built-in assistant.
On the cash side, Numeric ingests bank feeds from a wide range of banks and uses AI-generated matching rules to handle the bulk of bank reconciliation work automatically. For unmatched items, it can draft and post journal entries directly to NetSuite. The analytics module lets controllers and finance directors build management reports and run flux analysis without needing deep ERP expertise.
The platform connects to NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Xero. Implementation is estimated at one to two weeks. Numeric does not publish prices: every plan is a custom quote based on transaction volume and seats, across modules for close management, cash management, billing and revenue, or full ERP replacement.
Key capabilities
Automated Bank Reconciliation
Numeric ingests bank feeds and applies AI-generated matching rules to automate cash matching. The vendor states this process handles 90% or more of bank reconciliation work.
Flux Analysis on Autopilot
The platform auto-drafts variance explanations by pulling transaction detail directly from your ERP, grouping by revenue, OpEx, or department. One customer noted that 80% of flux first drafts are written by AI.
Close Checklist and Reconciliation
A structured close checklist organizes month-end tasks, and account reconciliations can be linked to supporting workpapers with materiality thresholds set by the team.
Transaction Monitoring
Numeric scans general ledger data in real time and surfaces anomalies before the close, reducing the chance that data issues carry through to final reports.
AI Accounting Assistant
A built-in AI Assistant answers technical accounting questions and can parse bank statements to support the reconciliation workflow.
Journal Entry Automation
For cash transactions that don't match automatically, Numeric can draft and post journal entries to NetSuite without manual re-entry.
Best for
- Accounting teams running a structured month-end close who want to reduce manual reconciliation and variance-explanation work
- Controllers and finance directors whose teams currently rely on spreadsheets for flux analysis or bank reconciliation
- Companies using NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or Xero who need a close management layer on top of their ERP
- Teams that need audit-ready documentation and want anomalies caught before—not after—the books are closed
- Organizations that want to keep headcount steady while handling more close complexity as the business grows
Worth knowing
- There is no published price — Numeric quotes each customer based on transaction volume, seats and the modules chosen (close management, cash management, billing and revenue), so get a quote before comparing total cost
- Numeric is designed for complex accounting teams—smaller businesses with straightforward closes may find the feature set broader than their actual needs
- Journal entry automation posts directly to NetSuite only; teams on other ERPs should confirm the scope of that specific feature before relying on it
- A one-to-two week implementation window assumes your ERP and bank integrations are in order; teams with non-standard setups or data quality issues should build in extra time
- If your primary need is general business automation or non-finance workflows, Numeric is purpose-built for accounting and will not address those use cases
