Watch: how KrispCall works

What KrispCall does

KrispCall is a cloud telephony platform aimed at teams that want a business phone system without hardware. It brings calls, SMS and contact history into a single dashboard the company calls the Unified CallBox, so an agent can see the whole thread with a customer rather than piecing it together across solutions. You can buy local, mobile, toll-free and vanity numbers, port existing numbers across, and call or text to more than a hundred countries.

Both directions of the phone are covered. Inbound, there is call routing to the right agent, call transfer, voicemail, and call log history. Outbound, a power dialer works through contact lists and filters out unanswered, unavailable and busy numbers so reps spend more time on connected calls. Supervisors get live call monitoring, whispering advice to an agent mid-call, and barging into a call to take over.

The AI features sit under what KrispCall calls AI Copilot: transcription of recorded calls, AI-drafted replies to common enquiries, and rephrasing of messages for clarity. There is also a separate SMS product line including bulk and automated texting, and a 2FA service for delivering one-time passcodes. Note that some of the advertised features are not shipped yet — call summaries within AI Copilot and a lead-capture widget are both marked coming soon on the vendor's own site.

Key capabilities

Unified call and SMS inbox

Calls, texts and contact history land in one dashboard, so an agent sees the full conversation with a customer instead of switching between systems.

Numbers in 100-plus countries

Local, mobile, toll-free and vanity numbers, with porting for numbers you already own and calling and texting across more than a hundred countries.

Inbound routing and voicemail

Route incoming calls to the right agent, transfer live calls, capture voicemail, and keep a searchable log of past conversations.

Power dialer

Work through contact lists automatically with filtering that skips unanswered, unavailable and busy numbers, so reps spend more time on connected calls.

AI Copilot

Transcribes recorded calls, drafts replies to common customer enquiries, and rephrases messages for clarity before they go out.

Live coaching and monitoring

Listen to live calls, whisper guidance only the agent hears, or barge in to take over — useful for onboarding new hires quickly.

Best for

  • Small sales or support teams that want a business phone system running the same day, without hardware or a telecoms contract
  • Businesses that handle customers over both voice and SMS and want the two in one place rather than in separate solutions
  • Companies calling or texting internationally that need local presence numbers in several countries
  • Managers who coach by listening to live calls and want whisper and barge built in rather than bolted on
  • Teams running a mainstream CRM — Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho — who want call and text activity logged there automatically

Worth knowing

  • Some advertised features are not shipped. Call summaries inside AI Copilot and the lead-capture widget are both marked coming soon on the vendor's own site, so do not buy on the strength of either — confirm what is live in your account before committing.
  • The per-seat price is not the full bill. Plans start around $12 per user per month on annual billing, rising to about $32 per user per month for the higher tier, but calling and SMS usage is charged on top and phone numbers are priced separately.
  • Annual billing carries the advertised discount; paying monthly costs roughly a fifth more per seat.
  • The AI layer is focused on transcription and drafting rather than deeper conversation analytics. If you want scoring, sentiment trends or topic analysis across a whole team's calls, check that depth against your requirements first.
  • The feature surface is broad — telephony, bulk SMS marketing, two-factor authentication delivery. If your actual problem is narrower, such as inbound calls going unanswered, a more focused solution may be faster to roll out and cheaper to run.

How KrispCall compares

Cloud phone systems look alike on a feature grid. The real differences are what the line is mainly for — a shared team number, outbound dialing, support routing or simply answering — and what the bill looks like once usage and numbers are added.

vs Quo

Quo is a shared business phone and SMS line with AI transcripts, summaries and Sona, an answering agent, from $15 per user a month annually with a 7-day free trial. KrispCall's entry seat is cheaper at $12, but usage and numbers sit on top and call summaries are still marked coming soon. Choose Quo if live AI summaries matter now; KrispCall for a lower seat price and a built-in power dialer.

vs CloudTalk

CloudTalk serves sales and support teams with a no-code call-flow designer, power and parallel dialers sold as per-user add-ons, and AI summaries, call scoring and sentiment, from €19 per user a month. KrispCall includes a power dialer and keeps its AI to transcription and drafting. Teams that want deeper call analytics should look harder at CloudTalk.

vs Kixie

Kixie is a sales dialer for reps making outbound calls all day, with parallel dialing and answering-machine detection, from $35 per user. KrispCall is a general phone system covering inbound and outbound, with a unified call and SMS inbox. Pick Kixie for SDR call volume inside HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive; KrispCall for a company line that also dials.

vs Rosie

Rosie is not a phone system; it is an AI answering service that picks up around the clock, answers FAQs and texts you a summary, from $49 a month for 250 minutes. If the only problem is inbound calls going unanswered, Rosie is narrower and quicker to roll out than a full telephony platform like KrispCall.

Most businesses looking at KrispCall are really trying to stop leads leaking out of missed calls. If that is the problem, start with where your leads are actually going — it puts a number on what the missed calls cost before you pick a solution.
