What Nanonets does

Nanonets is an AI platform built around accounts-payable and document-heavy workflows. It reads incoming invoices, purchase orders, and similar documents, pulls out structured data — vendor names, line items, GL codes, dates, amounts — and routes that data directly into your accounting or ERP system. The goal is to reduce how often a human has to touch a document just to move information from one place to another.

The platform uses what it calls 'context graphs' to apply your business rules during processing. Rather than treating every document the same way, it can account for things like customer-specific payment terms or approval thresholds. When the system is uncertain about something, it flags that item for human review instead of guessing, and it learns from corrections over time.

Nanonets connects to QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, and Zapier, and the vendor site also lists SAP, Salesforce, Slack, and Microsoft Teams among supported integrations. Implementation is estimated at one to two weeks. Enterprise deployments include SSO, audit logs, role-based access controls, private deployment options, and data residency choices across US, EU, and APAC regions.

Key capabilities

Invoice and PO data extraction

The platform reads invoices and purchase orders in various formats and pulls out structured fields — including tables and line items — without requiring a fixed template.

Automated classification and validation

Extracted data is classified and checked against your business rules before being posted to your systems, reducing errors that would otherwise need manual correction downstream.

Human review on low-confidence items

When the system is not confident in an extraction or decision, it routes that item to a human reviewer via Slack, Teams, or email rather than proceeding automatically.

Context-aware business rules

Context graphs let the platform apply different rules for different vendors, regions, or document types, so complex AP policies can be encoded rather than managed manually.

Direct ERP and accounting integration

Processed data is delivered directly to connected systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and NetSuite, avoiding manual re-entry between solutions.

Enterprise security and compliance controls

The platform holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and GDPR certifications, and supports HIPAA via BAA on enterprise plans, alongside audit logging and private deployment options.

Best for

  • Finance teams processing a meaningful volume of invoices or POs who want to reduce manual data-entry work
  • Businesses already using QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or NetSuite and looking for a solution that connects directly to those systems
  • Organizations with complex AP rules — such as vendor-specific payment terms or multi-entity structures — that need more than simple form extraction
  • Companies that want to start small and pay only for what they use, given the free-to-start credit model and pay-as-you-go pricing
  • Larger organizations with security and compliance requirements around data residency, audit logging, or SSO

Worth knowing

  • The pay-as-you-go pricing scales with volume; at roughly $2 per invoice end-to-end, teams processing thousands of invoices monthly should model total cost carefully before committing
  • The free tier provides $50 in credits with no card required, which is enough for a limited proof of concept but not a full-scale pilot
  • Growth and Enterprise pricing is custom-quoted, so mid-market buyers will need a sales conversation before knowing their actual cost
  • If your AP process is simple, low-volume, or already mostly automated, the platform may be more capability than you need
  • Realizing the full benefit of context graphs and business-rule encoding requires upfront setup; the one-to-two week implementation estimate assumes that work is scoped and resourced
