What Frase does
Frase is designed to handle the full content production cycle in one place: researching topics using live search results, drafting copy in your existing brand voice, scoring pages for both traditional SEO and AI-generated answers, and publishing directly to your CMS. The idea is to reduce the handoffs between separate research, writing, and monitoring solutions.
Once content is live, Frase keeps watching it. Its Content Guard feature detects when a page loses rank or traffic on Google, drafts a suggested revision, and waits for your approval before republishing. You can also opt in to let lower-risk fixes go out automatically, though human review remains the default.
A separate AI Visibility feature tracks whether your brand gets named in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI. It runs daily and alerts you when your share of voice shifts, so you find out the day something changes rather than weeks later.
Key capabilities
Live SERP and competitor research
Frase pulls live search results and competitor data to show you who currently owns your target topics and what it takes to compete with them.
Brand-voice drafting
Frase builds a profile from your existing published content and uses it to write drafts that match your team's voice rather than a generic AI output.
SEO and GEO scoring
Each draft receives an SEO score and a GEO (generative engine optimization) score, with specific gaps flagged before you publish.
Ranking decay detection
Content Guard monitors live pages for drops in Google rank or traffic, prepares a revision, and queues it for your approval.
AI citation tracking
AI Visibility monitors where your brand appears in answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI, updated daily with alerts when your visibility shifts.
Direct CMS publishing
Finished content can be pushed to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, or Wix in one step, or hosted on Frase's own FraseCMS.
Best for
- In-house content and SEO teams that want research, drafting, optimization, and monitoring in a single workflow rather than stitched-together solutions
- Business owners or small teams who produce regular SEO content but lack dedicated staff to track ranking decay across a large page inventory
- Agencies managing content and SEO for multiple clients who need per-domain tracking, role-based access, and exportable client reports from one workspace
- Teams competing in categories where AI-generated answers are reducing clicks to even top-ranked pages and who need to monitor AI citation share
- Organizations already publishing to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, or Wix who want to shorten the gap between a finished draft and a live page
Worth knowing
- Cost adds up at scale: the Professional plan is $103/month billed annually, and the Scale plan is $239/month. Teams on tight budgets who only need one part of the workflow — say, just drafting or just rank tracking — may find a narrower solution cheaper.
- The platform covers a broad feature set; getting full value from AI Visibility, Content Guard, and the publishing integrations together takes some initial setup and a learning period, even though the vendor describes onboarding as self-serve within days.
- Content Guard monitors Google ranking and traffic decay, but it does not eliminate the need for editorial judgment — every fix requires your approval by default, so someone still needs to review suggested revisions.
- AI Visibility tracking and GEO optimization are relatively new capabilities in the industry; if your business does not yet have meaningful organic search traffic or published content, there is less for Frase to learn from and monitor.
- Enterprise features such as white-label portals and custom domains require a custom pricing conversation; agencies expecting those capabilities should factor in that they are not available on the standard Scale plan.
