What Cube does
Cube sits between your existing spreadsheets and your financial data sources, pulling actuals from systems like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct and making them available in Excel or Google Sheets without manual exports. The idea is that your finance team keeps working in the solutions they already know while Cube handles the data plumbing underneath.
On top of that data layer, Cube provides AI-assisted forecasting, driver-based planning, and scenario modeling. Teams can build and stress-test multiple scenarios, run variance analysis from summary down to the source transaction, and produce reporting packages — all from within the same connected environment.
Cube also includes what it calls FP&Agents: sets of AI agents focused on data integrity, analysis, planning and modeling, and stakeholder communication. These are designed to handle repetitive finance workflow tasks so analysts spend less time assembling data and more time interpreting it. All outputs are described as traceable to the underlying transaction.
Key capabilities
Spreadsheet-native data sync
Cube connects to your ERP, CRM, and accounting systems and pushes clean, up-to-date figures directly into Excel or Google Sheets. A patented bi-directional sync means changes made in the spreadsheet can flow back through the platform.
Driver-based planning and forecasting
Finance teams can build forward-looking models tied to business drivers rather than static line items. Rolling forecasts update in real time as underlying data changes.
Multi-scenario modeling
Multiple scenarios can be built and compared simultaneously, with assumptions adjustable on the fly. Results can be shared in the solutions your team already uses, including PowerPoint and Slides.
Variance analysis to source
Cube lets users drill from a top-level variance report all the way to the originating transaction in a single click, reducing the back-and-forth typically involved in explaining budget vs. actuals.
Close and consolidation support
The platform includes automated consolidation workflows intended to reduce the time and manual effort involved in monthly close, bringing data from multiple sources into one auditable structure.
AI agent layer for finance tasks
Four teams of purpose-built AI agents handle data cleaning, analysis, planning, and cross-functional communication tasks. Cube also offers an MCP server to connect its financial data to external AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
Best for
- Small to mid-sized finance teams that want structured FP&A capabilities without abandoning Excel or Google Sheets as their primary working environment
- Companies already using QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Salesforce who want those systems to feed a planning layer automatically
- FP&A teams spending significant time on manual data consolidation, copy-paste reporting, or reconciling spreadsheet versions
- Finance functions that need multi-scenario modeling and variance analysis but lack the headcount to build and maintain complex models from scratch
- Organisations in industries such as SaaS, professional services, healthcare, or manufacturing where driver-based planning and real-time forecasting are priorities
Worth knowing
- Pricing is custom and quote-based — there is no published rate card, so you will need to go through a sales conversation before knowing whether it fits your budget
- Implementation is estimated at four to eight weeks, which means a meaningful onboarding commitment and some disruption before the platform is fully operational
- The solution is built around spreadsheet workflows; teams looking to move away from Excel or Sheets entirely may find this a better fit than those seeking a fully separate web-based planning interface
- If your data sources are not among the listed integrations — QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel, Google Sheets, Salesforce, Sage Intacct — you will need to verify compatibility before proceeding
- The AI features are positioned as augmenting a finance team's work, not replacing finance judgment; organisations expecting fully automated, hands-off planning should calibrate expectations accordingly
